As a sculptor I find satisfaction in the creation of objects that look at the world through the door of whimsy with jaundiced eye. I gather together disparate symbols of modern society and treat them as sacred objects with hidden truths. In combining these objects into a unified whole they hold the glass darkly to reflect the contingencies of reality, finding foolishness in our structures, in hierarchies and in our everyday lives. -Gard Jones, 2001 |
